The 'Old vs. New' war in the ruling party: Harsh call made to two figures within the party

Mücahit Birinci, one of the well-known figures of the AKP, resigned from the party following the initiation of a permanent expulsion process against him. Birinci was among the names mentioned in the 'IMM Stock Exchange' debate initiated by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. According to allegations reflected in the public domain, it was claimed that he pressured some witnesses to give false testimony.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's attendance at the funeral of Birinci's father stood out as a notable detail within the party following the departure.

ACCESS BAN ON PRO-GOVERNMENT SOCIAL MEDIA

Journalist Fatih Altaylı interpreted the developments as a 'power struggle' within the AKP. Altaylı stated that the access ban imposed on some pro-government social media accounts is also a part of this process.

Journalist Nuray Babacan, who closely follows the behind-the-scenes of the AKP, shared striking information regarding the tension in the party. According to Babacan, the effort of some figures to 'speak on behalf of the AKP' in the media is causing discomfort.

Babacan conveyed the voices rising from within the party as follows:

'Why doesn't the party silence those who do not represent us? They are not the spokespeople of the party. Executives like Ömer Çelik and Efkan Ala should come out and make a statement saying, "No one can speak on our behalf."'

Babacan also emphasized that the influence of individuals removed from the party has not been completely cut off, and that some cliques are trying to direct party policies through the media and social media. It was noted that allegations that some people, described with phrases like 'image masters who know everything,' receive instructions from certain groups within the party are also being discussed behind the scenes.
