Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated that allegations of fake e-signatures and fake diplomas are being used to create manipulation in the public eye, and warned that such speculative content should not be given any credence.
Making a statement via his social media account, Yılmaz said, "Their goal is not to fight crime; it is to create an environment of chaos and to spread hopelessness and pessimism," expressing that such efforts are aimed at creating distrust in society.
In his statement, Yılmaz emphasized that the current era is not only an "information" age but also an "age of disinformation," noting that efforts to undermine state institutions in the digital media environment have become systematic. Yılmaz included the remark, "Cross-border content with unknown sources is being spread with the aim of harming state institutions."
Stating that the recent agenda items regarding fake e-signature and fake diploma allegations are also part of these manipulations, Yılmaz expressed that such content aims to portray institutions as weak in their efforts to bring criminals to justice.
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz said, "These manipulations are being used as an effort to weaken democratic politics and the rule of law."
Yılmaz concluded his statement as follows: "With its long-standing experience in democratic politics and vast foresight, our nation will not give credit to these manipulations of suspicious origin."
