Pro-government columnist reveals the date when terrorist leader Öcalan will call for laying down arms! 'We are approaching historic moments...'
Abdulkadir Selvi, a columnist for the Hürriyet newspaper known for his proximity to the government, wrote in his article titled 'Öcalan is expected to make a short, clear, and concise call' that terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan will call for laying down arms by the end of January or the beginning of February.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli had called in his party's latest group meeting for an announcement to be made without any conditions, stating that "at the end of the second meeting to be held between the DEM delegation and İmralı, it should be declared that the PKK's organizational existence has ended, that no results can be achieved through terrorism, and that this bloody page has been closed at the cost of many sacrifices."
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has been giving implicit messages since the beginning of the process, noted in his statement to journalists at the end of his party's group meeting that he found the contacts made by the DEM Party İmralı delegation positive. Erdoğan had stated, "If the necessary call is made and the terrorist organization and its affiliated structures take the necessary steps, the winner will be all of Turkey, with its Turks and Kurds alike."
Erdoğan, who initially did not hear a journalist's question, "Are you hopeful that a call to lay down arms will come?", later gestured for the question to be repeated. Erdoğan left the journalist's repeated question unanswered and continued his walk with his aides.
Public attention has turned to whether terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan will call on the PKK to lay down its arms. The DEM Party, meanwhile, will apply to the Ministry of Justice today (January 20) for a second visit to İmralı.
Abdulkadir Selvi, a columnist for the Hürriyet newspaper known for his proximity to the government, stated in his article addressing the DEM Party İmralı Delegation's preparations for a second meeting with Abdullah Öcalan, "The calendar has accelerated following President Erdoğan's warning that the call should be made without delay." Expressing that Öcalan's call to lay down arms should not contain ambiguous expressions, Selvi said, "Öcalan is expected to make a call regarding laying down arms by the end of January or the beginning of February, and his call is expected to be short, clear, and concise."
In his article titled "Öcalan is expected to make a short, clear, and concise call," Selvi noted the following:
"The DEM Delegation will apply to go to İmralı for the second time. The meeting is expected to take place within the week.
We are approaching historic moments.
Because Öcalan is expected to make a call regarding laying down arms by the end of January or the beginning of February, and his call is expected to be short, clear, and concise.
It is not expected that İmralı will make a call containing ambiguous expressions such as 'let a period of non-conflict and inaction be entered' or 'let weapons be buried.'
On the contrary, he is expected to make a call in a short, clear, and very concise manner for weapons to be laid down and for terrorist activities to be ended."
