Re-arrest warrant had been issued: New development regarding Ayşe Barım

Renowned talent manager Ayşe Barım, who was placed under house arrest after being held in custody for 248 days in the case concerning the Gezi Park protests, was re-arrested and hospitalized for treatment. 

In the hearing held yesterday, a decision was made for Barım's release, but a re-arrest warrant was issued following an objection by the prosecutor's office.

Ayşe Barım had been held in custody for 248 days in the Gezi Park protests caseshe was being tried in. The duration of herdetention had come to the agendadue to health issues and criticismsregarding the trialprocess.In recent days,a house arrest decision had been issued for Barım. However, upon the prosecutor's objection, a new development occurred at the hearing and a re-arrest warrant was issued. 

Following the arrest warrant issued for Barım, while she was expected to be transferred to prison, her treatment process will continue in the hospital due to health issues.

Ayşe Barım is receiving treatment at the American Hospital and remains there under police supervision. In a statement made by her doctor, it was noted that Barım's planned treatment processes have not yet been completed and that treatment must continue. 

The reason for Barım's hospitalization is a Transesophageal Echocardiography (cardiac endoscopy) procedure, which is an important operation her doctor needs to perform regarding her heart health. In this procedure, the heart is imaged from the inside, and the aim is to determine the treatment method to be followed. Barım's doctor stated that performing this procedure is of vital importance and that she must remain in the hospital.

Ayşe Barım's transfer back to prison has been postponed for the time being. Since her treatment process is ongoing, Barım has not been permitted to be sent to prison immediately. She is expected to be sent back to prison once her treatment is completed.
