Remarkable comments on Mehmet Akif Ersoy from Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı! He blamed that name...

Journalist Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı has made new assessments regarding the drug operation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, in which Habertürk Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Akif Ersoy was detained.

Regarding Ersoy's situation, Kütahyalı mentioned the name of lawyer Rezan Epözdemir and made comments concerning both the progression of the process and the scope of the investigation.

“THIS OPERATION HAD BEEN EXPECTED FOR FIVE DAYS”

Kütahyalı claimed that the process was actually known days in advance, stating that there had been talk of an impending arrest since Friday.

Recalling that he had pointed to this development in television programs, Kütahyalı said:

“Unfortunately, this drug operation had been expected for 5 days. This arrest had been expected since Friday. I hinted that this would happen on LiderHaber on Friday. I said it again today on LiderHaber. I remember Mehmet Akif's religious and innocent days like it was yesterday; it is very painful and sad.”

“YOU ALSO KNEW HE WOULD BE ARRESTED”

Citing a post by journalist Seyhan Avşar and addressing the allegations directed at Ersoy, Kütahyalı said that Ersoy is facing multiple charges, primarily purchasing and possessing drugs.

Kütahyalı continued his statements with the following expressions:

“Seyhan, come on, let's tell the public the truth... Everyone knew, and you knew too, that Mehmet Akif, whose life was ruined after being led astray since Friday, would be arrested for purchasing, possessing, and using drugs, and for providing a place and opportunity for drug use.”

Holding lawyer Rezan Epözdemir responsible for the situation Ersoy has fallen into, Kütahyalı argued that these events do not elevate Ersoy's position within the operation:

“Former Islamist journalist Mehmet Akif Ersoy, who was pushed into the drug swamp by people like Rezan Epözdemir and ruined his own life in that drug swamp, is the small name in this operation…”

Stating that the operation could expand even further, Kütahyalı pointed out that there are influential names in the file beyond Ersoy and concluded his words as follows:

“There are much bigger names…”
