Road closed after landslide in Arhavi reopened to traffic after 19 hours
The Black Sea Coastal Road, which was closed following a landslide that occurred during the night in the Arhavi district of Artvin, has been reopened to traffic from a single lane following 19 hours of intensive work.
A landslide that occurred around 03:15 at night in the Kıyıcık area of Artvin's Arhavi district caused the Black Sea Coastal Road to be closed to traffic.
Work began with the first light of day on the highway, where traffic had been closed in both directions due to massive masses of soil and rock that broke off from the slope due to the landslide.
Following intensive work by heavy machinery in the landslide clearing operations initiated from both points in the Fındıklı district of Rize and the Arhavi district of Artvin, a 200-meter area was cleared of soil and rock piles, and the road was reopened to single-lane traffic after 19 hours.
