Scandalous defense from Adnan Oktar: This time he compared himself to prophets

Fifteen detained defendants in the case separated from the Adnan Oktar Criminal Organization trial appeared before the judge again. Adnan Oktar and other detained defendants attended the hearing held at the Istanbul Anatolian 1st High Criminal Court.

REQUEST FOR ACQUITTAL ON TWO CHARGES

Making a defense at the hearing, the organization's legal manager Mehmet Noyan Orcan claimed that the accusations did not reflect the truth, saying, "Our character is not suitable for committing crimes such as fraud and smuggling."

Sinem Hacer Tezyapar, who is stated to manage the organization's international lobbying activities, said, "We are a religious community recognized by the state for years. We spent our money in the way of Allah."

The court took a 15-minute break and had the spectators removed. One of the supporters said to Adnan Oktar, "White suits you well, hocam, Mashallah," while others left the courtroom showing their affection.

“IT WAS DONE TO THE PROPHETS TOO”

In his defense, detained defendant Adnan Oktar said, "The state knows me well. Conspiracies have always been carried out throughout history. It was done to the prophets too.

"PRISON PROTECTED US FROM THE FITNA OF THE OUTSIDE WORLD"

Going to prison was a blessing for our friends. It protected us from the fitna (strife) of the outside world. Prison is no different from my home. The state sometimes puts the people it loves in prison. This is the state's method," he said.

The Public Prosecutor, who announced his opinion at the court, requested the acquittal of the defendants on the charges of "Smuggling" and "Forgery of official documents," and the separation of the file regarding other charges.

HEARING ADJOURNED

The court panel granted time for the defendants to make their defenses on the merits and adjourned the hearing to a later date.
