Shocking claim in the newborn gang case... 9 hospitals saved by the intervention of 'certain people'

In the "newborn gang" case, which has caused a major stir in the healthcare sector, the assets of Fırat Sarı, who is alleged to be the leader of the criminal organization, along with 23 others and 3 companies, were seized, and trustees were appointed to 13 hospitals.

However, new allegations that have emerged regarding the case have fueled the controversy.

INTERVENTION FROM ANKARA

Nefes Gazetesi columnist Nuray Babacan wrote in her article titled "Time for a scalpel in healthcare" that 9 private hospitals, which should have been included in the scope of the investigation in addition to the 13 hospitals in question, were saved from the investigation after "certain people from Ankara stepped in."

According to Babacan, an AKP politician who pointed out that corruption in the healthcare sector is not limited to private hospitals stated, "If a prosecutor were assigned to state and university hospitals, even more incidents than those of the newborn gang would be uncovered. None of them are innocent."

FUTURE OF THE HOSPITALS UNCERTAIN

While the process continues for the 13 hospitals mentioned in the case, it has been learned that there are no plans to transfer these hospitals to the Ministry of Health.

Allegations have also surfaced that the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF) has suggested "voluntary sale" to the hospital owners and that buyers for some of the hospitals are already prepared.

In Babacan's article, it was also claimed that there are groups preparing to "seize" some hospitals, drawing attention to the conflicts of interest in the sector.
