Shocking proposals at the parliamentary resolution commission: 'Let Öcalan be the chief negotiator, grant PKK members the right to engage in politics'
At the parliamentary commission meeting, it was demanded that PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan be appointed as chief negotiator and that PKK members be granted the right to engage in politics. The commission will organize a visit to Diyarbakır to hold new contacts regarding the resolution process.
Shocking proposals were brought to the agenda at the 14th meeting of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission established in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Nezahat Hasan, the Batman Branch President of the Cradle of Civilizations Association, known as the "Cosmic Association" of the terrorist organization PKK, proposed that Abdullah Öcalan be appointed as chief negotiator.
Another notable proposal came from former AKP MP Mehmet Metiner; Metiner demanded that a foundation be established for members of the terrorist organization to engage in politics.
DEMAND FOR ÖCALAN TO BE CHIEF NEGOTIATOR
According to the report by Sözcü, Nezahat Hasan, who attended the meeting, emphasized that Abdullah Öcalan should be defined as the chief negotiator of the peace process. Hasan stated that meetings to be held with Öcalan would be an important part of the process of alleviating concerns, securing the consent of families, and persuasion. Stating, "In order to achieve the peace process, one must first negotiate with Abdullah Öcalan, and he must be defined as the chief negotiator of the process," Hasan described the organization leader as the architect of peace.
Mehmet Metiner, on the other hand, demanded that members of the separatist terrorist organization PKK be granted the right to engage in politics if they lay down their arms and dissolve the organization. Metiner said that it is important for PKK members in prisons and those abroad to be reintegrated into society, and that these individuals could engage in politics after the disarmament and dissolution process. Stating, "After a reasonable period, PKK members in prisons should be reintegrated into society and those abroad should return to their homes. The right to engage in politics should be granted," Metiner indicated that the resolution process should proceed in this manner.
DİYARBAKIR VISIT TO TAKE PLACE
The National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission will carry out a visit to Diyarbakır within the scope of the resolution process. During this visit, contacts will be made with individuals and institutions directly affected by the issue. The purpose of the visit will be to discuss resolution proposals in the region and to receive new ideas regarding the resolution process. The details of the visit have not yet been finalized. Prior to this visit, the commission will listen to women's and youth organizations at its 15th meeting in Parliament.
Following the Diyarbakır visit, commission members will listen to National Intelligence Organization (MİT) President İbrahim Kalın, Minister of National Defense Yaşar Güler, and Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya for the second time within a week.
