Sinan Ateş's mother accuses MHP once again: 'My son's killers are there'

Former Idealist Hearths (Ülkü Ocakları) President Sinan Ateş, who lost his life as a result of an armed attack in Ankara on December 30, 2022, was commemorated at his graveside in his hometown of Bursa on the second anniversary of his death.

Many political figures, as well as Ateş's family and relatives, attended the mawlid (religious memorial) held after the noon prayer at Emirsultan Mosque.

Among those attending the mawlid were CHP Bursa Provincial Chair Nihat Yeşiltaş, İYİ Party Bursa Deputy Selçuk Türkoğlu, İYİ Party Bursa Provincial Chair Hasan Kaya, CHP Party Assembly Member Canan Taşer, and Great Unity Party (BBP) Deputy Chairman Ekrem Alfatlı.

Following the mawlid, the crowd gathered for the commemoration marched to Emirsultan Cemetery, chanting slogans such as "Sinan's fire will burn the killers" and "An eye for an eye, blood for blood, revenge." After prayers were recited at Ateş's grave, his mother Saniye Ateş gave an emotional speech.

HARSH STATEMENTS FROM MOTHER ATEŞ

Stating that her son's killers have still not been found, Saniye Ateş continued her remarks as follows:

“May God not let anyone experience such pain. Everyone is deaf and dumb. They put an empty file in front of us. They stalled us so much… I said it on the first day, and I am saying it again: My son's killers are in the MHP. They know who they are. Because the shepherd has started to eat the lamb. The lambs we entrusted have started to be eaten.”

“They will not live longer than Pharaoh. God has a reckoning. I will not forget the slanders made against my son's orphaned children and my daughter-in-law after his passing. I do not grant my forgiveness in this world or the next to the people to whom I entrusted my child. My son had been in the Hearths since he was 9 years old, but he will never grant his forgiveness.”

“OUR PAIN IS FRESH, WE ARE WAITING FOR JUSTICE”

While family members expressed that the pain of Sinan Ateş losing his life at a young age is still fresh, they called for justice to be served as soon as possible. Ateş's family and supporters stated that the investigation must proceed effectively.
