Striking claim about Kılıçdaroğlu from Hikmet Çetin! 'With those at the highest level...'

Hikmet Çetin, a former leader of the CHP, stated that he believes a coalition between the CHP and the MHP would be very successful if it were to be formed. Çetin expressed that he had even hinted at this thought to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli.

HE MET WITH BAHÇELİ AND Feti Yıldız

Hikmet Çetin, who met first with MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli and then with MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız last week, made assessments regarding the political agenda. 

Speaking to T24, Çetin made notable remarks regarding the "Congress case" to be heard in the CHP today, as well as the imprisoned Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu and Selahattin Demirtaş.

“THE CONGRESS COULD BE CONSIDERED ABSOLUTELY VOID”

Stating that the congress could be considered 'absolutely void,' Çetin claimed that former CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is also 'in contact with those at the highest level' regarding this matter.

ASSESSMENT OF İMAMOĞLU AND DEMİRTAŞ

Emphasizing that Ekrem İmamoğlu is one of the most important figures within the CHP, Çetin stated that his release is not possible.

Touching upon Selahattin Demirtaş, Çetin said, "They said 'yes' to the lifting of parliamentary immunities even though they knew it was unconstitutional; Selahattin Demirtaş is still inside today because of that. I believe that when Selahattin Demirtaş is released, he will be a very important political actor. I have visited him twice."

“I HINTED AT IT TO BAHÇELİ TOO”

Referring to his meeting with Devlet Bahçeli on September 2, Çetin noted that he recounted a dialogue he had in the past with the late MHP leader Alparslan Türkeş. 

Çetin stated, "I still believe, even today, that a coalition between the CHP and the MHP would be very successful. I hinted at this to Bahçeli as well."
