Surprising passport scheme at Sabiha Gökçen exposed! Iranian women's escape to Europe thwarted at the last minute

A fake passport scandal occurred at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport. In the incident that took place on November 28, 2024, two Iranian citizens devised a plan worthy of a movie to escape to Europe. The suspects, who tried to board a flight to Milan by pretending to be traveling to Tbilisi, were caught through the diligent work of police teams.

DECEPTION PLAN WITH A SECOND BOARDING PASS

The incident came to light during checks conducted by the Travel Document Inspection and Risk Analysis Bureau teams working at the airport. Iranian nationals Ainaz B. (25) and Faezeh J. (27) wanted to go to Milan with fake Brazilian, Italian, and Bulgarian passports in their possession. The women, who passed through passport control without any issues in the first stage, then headed toward the Milan flight using a second boarding pass. However, during the teams' inspections, it was determined that the passports had been forged.

ESCAPE PLAN WITH A FAKE TBILISI TICKET

It was determined that the suspect women had actually purchased tickets to travel to Tbilisi on a Pegasus Airlines flight, passed through passport control with their own Iranian passports, but then attempted to board the Milan flight with fake documents. When officials determined that the exit stamps used on the women's boarding passes were also fake, their escape plan fell through.

THEY BOUGHT THE PASSPORTS FROM AN UNKNOWN PERSON IN TAKSIM

The detained suspects confessed during their interrogation that they had obtained the fake passports from an unidentified person in the Taksim district of Istanbul. It was determined during a criminal investigation conducted by experts that the documents, which they purchased for 8 thousand pounds (approximately 370 thousand TL), were professionally prepared and difficult to distinguish from the originals.

INDICTMENT PREPARED: UP TO 5 YEARS IN PRISON REQUESTED

Within the scope of the investigation launched by the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident, an indictment was prepared against the Iranian suspects for the crime of "forgery of official documents." The prosecutor's office requested that the two women who tried to escape with fake passports be sentenced to up to 5 years in prison.
