Tense hours in CHP: Surprise Özgür Özel - Kılıçdaroğlu claim following party congress lawsuit

While operations targeting CHP-run municipalities continue, another topic on the agenda was the lawsuit filed to cancel the CHP's 38th ordinary and 21st extraordinary party congresses.

In the hearing held at the Ankara 42nd Civil Court of First Instance on September 15, the plaintiffs' request for the interim suspension of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, as well as members of the Party Assembly (PM) and the Central Executive Board (MYK), was rejected, and it was decided that the next hearing would be held on October 24.

While Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's silence in the face of judicial operations has caused reactions within the party, a surprise claim has emerged.

According to a report by the pro-government newspaper Türkiye Gazetesi, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and Kılıçdaroğlu will meet in Ankara this week.

It was noted that the meeting would take place at the Ankara home of CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir.

It is stated that some members of parliament within the party are pressuring Özel and Kılıçdaroğlu to come together and are acting as intermediaries for this meeting to take place. Members of parliament and party staff hope that the problems within the party will be resolved following this meeting.

Meanwhile, former CHP Chairman Hikmet Çetin called Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to apologize for his previous remarks. It was learned that Çetin told Kılıçdaroğlu, 'Your call and your words are valuable.'

On the other hand, Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed as a trustee to the CHP İstanbul Provincial Administration, denied claims that he had applied to the Sarıyer District Election Board to organize a provincial congress. Tekin stated that they had only applied for the certification of the decision book.
