Testimony of 17-year-old suspect who murdered 4 members of his family revealed

Sevinç İ., who arrived at her sister's home on the third floor of a 3-story apartment building in the Eyüpsultan district, notified the police after seeing her sister, brother-in-law, and niece lying on the floor covered in blood. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the address upon the report.

During the checks conducted by the teams, it was determined that grandmother Fatma İnce (71), father Mehmet Yenigün (43), mother Aysun Yenigün (42), and their child Dilan Yenigün (12) had been shot and killed. Relatives of the family who heard the news and arrived at the house suffered nervous breakdowns.

Police teams, who took security measures on the street and in the building, determined during their investigation that the family's 17-year-old son, B.Y., had left the house and fled after the incident. Following the crime scene investigations, the bodies were taken to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsies.

DETAINED IN BURSA

Following this, the Homicide Bureau teams took action. Shortly after the incident, police teams conducted technical and physical surveillance and determined that the murder suspect, B.Y., had fled to Bursa. The suspect, B.Y., was captured in an operation. Brought to Istanbul, B.Y. confessed to the murders during his initial interrogation.

TESTIMONY OF 17-YEAR-OLD SUSPECT REVEALED

In the investigations conducted, the murder suspect B.Y. claimed to the police that he committed the murder because of gold being counted in the house. According to the allegations, father Mehmet Yenigün was counting gold in the house. When one of the pieces of gold being counted was missing, he turned to B.Y. and said, 'Did you take the gold?'

In his statement to the police, B.Y. claimed that an argument broke out over the words 'Did you take the gold?' and that he committed the murders after the ensuing argument. Whether this information provided by the suspect is true is being investigated. A comprehensive investigation into the incident is ongoing.
