As part of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Show TV News Anchor Ela Rümeysa Cebeci, Beyaz TV Main News Anchor Hande Sarıoğlu, and former Habertürk anchor Meltem Acet were detained by the gendarmerie on charges of "purchasing, accepting, or possessing narcotic or stimulant substances for use, or using narcotic or stimulant substances."

The famous anchors, who gave their statements at the courthouse, were released after their blood samples were taken.

New details have been reached regarding the operation in which the famous anchors were detained.

The examination of statements and digital materials obtained from previous operations led to the emergence of new connections, and the investigation expanded further.

WHAT WAS FOUND ON THE PHENOMENON'S PHONE

According to information reported by Sabah, the social media phenomenon at the center of the investigation voluntarily handed over their mobile phone for examination. It was stated that the correspondence via WhatsApp and Telegram, along with digital content, pointed to a wide network linked to the supply and trafficking of narcotic substances.

OPERATION TARGETING CELEBRITIES

Last October, numerous names, including Dilan and Engin Polat, İrem Derici, Deren–Derin Talu, Kubilay Aka, and Kaan Yıldırım, were summoned to testify. While the tests of the majority came back clean, it was noted that some individuals with positive results claimed this was due to prescription medications.

This group included names such as Duygu Özaslan Mutaf, Demet Evgar, Zeynep Meriç Aral, Ceren Moray, Hadise Açıkgöz, and Özge Özpirinçci.

OPERATION EXTENDED TO THE MEDIA WORLD

With the examination of digital evidence, the final phase of the operation turned toward the media sector. Cebeci, Sarıoğlu, and Acet gave statements regarding the allegation of "using narcotic or stimulant substances" against them and provided blood and hair samples to the Forensic Medicine Institute.

Following the completion of their questioning, all three anchors were released.

It is stated that the evaluation of existing digital evidence is ongoing and that some famous names may be summoned to testify again in the coming days.
