The statement of former referee and sports commentator Ahmet Çakar, who was planned to be detained as part of a betting investigation but was released after his statement was taken due to his health condition, has been reflected in the file.

Explaining what happened on the day of the incident in his statement, Çakar stated that he was out for dinner on the evening before he was to be detained and returned home around 01:00 at night.

Stating that the police came to his house in the morning, Çakar said he told them he did not know where his mobile phone was and thought the device might be in his car. It was noted that the phone could not be found during the search conducted with the police.

According to his statements, it was reported that while his lawyer went to his house to provide clothing while he was in custody, the mobile phone was found broken next to his vehicle.

Stating that his lawyer turned the phone on, Çakar reported that the device worked for about 20 minutes and then turned itself off.

In his statement, Çakar said he was informed that the phone became unusable after it turned off, and he expressed that he had no information about the whereabouts of the device afterward.

Stating that the phone might have been left at the hospital or lost, Çakar said he is currently using another phone given to him by his sister, and that this device was not with him during his statement.

At the end of his statement, Ahmet Çakar expressed that he denied the accusations directed at him. Çakar noted that he only transacted through legal betting sites and did not accept the charges brought against him.
