The product with the highest price increase in Istanbul in December has been identified
The change in retail prices in Istanbul in December revealed a notable trend in food products. According to data from the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), green beans became the product with the highest value increase at 26.99 percent, while tomatoes were the product with the largest price decrease at 21.97 percent. In December, the prices of 91 products increased, the prices of 25 products decreased, and the prices of 126 products remained unchanged.
The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) has announced the products with the highest retail price increases and decreases in December, along with their rates of change.
Accordingly, out of the 242 products included in the ITO's Istanbul Wage Earners' Cost of Living Index, the retail prices of 91 products increased, 25 products decreased, and 126 products remained unchanged.
In December, fresh beans, which are in the fresh and dried vegetables and fruits subgroup of food expenditures, became the product with the highest price increase at 26.99 percent.
Some of the other products with price increases were recorded as cabbage with 24.28 percent from the fresh and dried vegetables and fruits subgroup of food expenditures, newspapers with 21.18 percent from the culture, education, and entertainment expenditures subgroup, curly lettuce with 15.03 percent, green onions with 14.94 percent, and fresh grapes with 14.20 percent from the fresh and dried vegetables and fruits subgroup of food expenditures, and chocolate with 11.22 percent from the miscellaneous and prepared foods subgroup.
PRODUCTS WITH DECREASING PRICES
In December, tomatoes, which are in the fresh and dried vegetables and fruits subgroup of the food expenditures group, became the product with the highest price decrease with a decline of 21.97 percent.
Some of the other products that saw a decrease in price were determined as cauliflower with 12.85 percent, cucumbers with 11.91 percent, zucchini with 10.54 percent, oranges with 9.89 percent, and spinach with 8.32 percent from the same group.
