The General Directorate of Meteorology has delivered bad news to those expecting snowfall on New Year's Eve. No snowfall is expected across Turkey on December 31 or in the first days of the new year. Although there is snow cover in the higher parts of Eastern Anatolia and Central Anatolia, the weather on New Year's will generally be within seasonal norms.

According to the statement made by Meteorology to Hürriyet, intermittent precipitation is expected across the country over the next 3 days. However, from Tuesday onwards, the weather will be largely dry.

December 31: Rain is expected only in the Eastern Black Sea region.

Wednesday: Precipitation will be seen in Rize and Artvin.

Thursday and Friday: There will be no precipitation across the country.

Istanbul: Partly cloudy weather is expected on December 31. Temperatures will range from a low of 4 to a high of 11 degrees. The first day of the new year will also pass with similar temperatures.

Ankara: The weather will be partly cloudy on December 31. Temperatures will range from a low of -2 to a high of 4 degrees. On January 1, temperatures will be between -2 and 5 degrees.

Izmir: The weather will be partly cloudy. On December 31, the lowest temperature will be 6 degrees and the highest will be 14 degrees. On January 1, the lowest will be 7 degrees and the highest will be 15 degrees.
