Colonel Alper Topsakal and Staff Lieutenant Colonel Halit Türkoğlu, who were dismissed from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), have been appointed to senior positions in companies affiliated with the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB).

ABB Mayor Mansur Yavaş has supported the commanders of the five lieutenants who were dismissed after chanting the slogan "We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal" at their graduation ceremony, and has brought them into the municipal organization.

TWO COMMANDERS HAVE STARTED THEIR DUTIES

According to a report by Sözcü, Colonel Alper Topsakal was appointed as the deputy general manager of the municipality-affiliated ANFA Security company, while Staff Lieutenant Colonel Halit Türkoğlu became the deputy general manager of ANKET A.Ş., which carries out the cultural and promotional activities of the ABB. It was learned that both commanders have begun their regular work shifts following the appointments made shortly ago.

On the other hand, it was reported that Company Commander Major Murat Öztürk, who was dismissed during the same period, has returned to his hometown.

In a statement made after his dismissal, Colonel Topsakal had said, "Even though my uniform has been taken away, I will continue to work for my homeland and my nation."

YAVAŞ HAD PREVIOUSLY HIRED FOUR LIEUTENANTS AT THE MUNICIPALITY

ABB Mayor Mansur Yavaş had also hired four lieutenants, who were dismissed from the TSK in 2023 for arguing with lieutenants who did not wear Atatürk pins at the Tuzla Infantry School, at municipal companies. It is stated that these lieutenants are working at ANFA Security, ANKET A.Ş., and Belpa A.Ş.

Colonel Alper Topsakal, who drew attention with his service record before his dismissal from the TSK, has started his duty at ANFA Security. Bektaş Arslan, who also has a military background, is at the head of ANFA Security, which has been operating since 1992 and has approximately 3,800 employees.

During his time in the TSK, Colonel Topsakal had successfully managed operations in difficult terrains with the commandos under his command as part of Operation Claw-Lock.

Staff Lieutenant Colonel Halit Türkoğlu has taken a position at ANKET A.Ş., which carries out Ankara's cultural promotion activities. Türkoğlu, who received 155 commendations during his 15-year military career, served as a planning officer in the Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch operations and prepared the operational plans for Operation Claw-Lightning.
