Doctor Hasan Hüseyin Uysal, who works at Konya Meram State Hospital, refused to examine a young woman, finding her clothing "revealing." Uysal's attitude, in which he insulted the patient by saying, "I have the right to choose my patients. I do not examine exhibitionists," sparked a major public outcry.

HE TREATED ISRAELI SOLDIERS

It has emerged that Uysal, who is criticized for failing to fulfill his professional responsibilities, treated Israeli soldiers who were wounded during the Israeli military's 2010 attack on the "Gaza Freedom Flotilla." Uysal, who was also the İHH Konya Branch President at the time, used the following expressions in an interview he gave to the Anadolu'da Bugün newspaper:

"More than one Israeli soldier was also brought in, having been wounded during this fight and struggle. We treated them as well. Ultimately, we are Muslims. And if a person comes into our hands as a wounded individual, we do what needs to be done for them, just as we do for our other brothers."

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

Following the reactions, the Konya Provincial Health Directorate announced that the woman had been examined by another physician and that an investigation into the incident had been launched.

The Konya Governor's Office stated in its announcement, "News and posts have appeared in some media outlets regarding a doctor working at a hospital in our province who 'did not examine a patient because he did not like her clothing.' An investigation has been launched regarding the relevant official."

The Ministry of Health also made a statement regarding the matter, saying, "An administrative investigation has been launched regarding the relevant personnel concerning the allegations appearing in some press outlets and social media channels. The investigation is being conducted meticulously."
