Trial for Narin Güran's killers continues: Second hearing is tomorrow

The trial of the mother Yüksel, brother Enes, and uncle Salim Güran, as well as their neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, who are detained in connection with the murder of Narin Güran—who went missing on August 21 in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of the central Bağlar district and whose lifeless body was found in the Eğertutmaz Stream on September 8—is proceeding under the charge of "intentional killing of a child in complicity," with prosecutors seeking aggravated life imprisonment.

SECOND HEARING OF THE TRIAL IS TOMORROW

The trial of the 4 defendants, for which the public prosecutor has submitted their opinion, will continue at the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21 in the Tavşantepe neighborhood of Diyarbakır's central Bağlar district, was found dead in the Eğertutmaz Stream on September 8.

Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 12 out of 23 suspects taken into custody, including mother Yüksel, brother Enes, uncle Salim Güran, and neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, were arrested.

The investigation into Yüksel, Enes, and Salim Güran, as well as Nevzat Bahtiyar, was completed, and the indictment prepared against the 4 defendants for "intentional killing of a child in complicity" with a request for aggravated life imprisonment was accepted by the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court on October 23.

The trial of the defendants began on November 7, and the first hearing, which lasted 3 days, was adjourned to December 26 with a decision to continue the detention of the defendants.

Following the first hearing, the public prosecutor submitted the 14-page opinion they had prepared to the court during the interim period.
