Turkish Director General of Civil Aviation Prof. Dr. Kemal Yüksek used controversial language regarding Muazzez İlmiye Çığ, one of the world's leading Sumerologists, Turkey's first female Sumerologist, known as the "Last Queen of Sumer," who passed away recently.
Under a post by Civil Aviation Cabin Services Lecturer S. Oya Işıkcı stating, "As a child of the Republic, she is an irreplaceable loss. May our Republic be consoled in its 101st year!", Kemal Yüksek commented, "Why does every obscure enemy of religion have to be a 'Child of the Republic'? Is there a problem with the Republic.."
