Undecided voters leave their mark on the latest poll: Neither DEM nor MHP is in third place
Striking results have emerged from a general election poll conducted by AREA Research across 26 provinces. In the study, participants were also asked about the new peace process and the investigations into Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
While the CHP continues its calls for an early election, public opinion research companies continue their polling efforts for the general election. Most recently, AREA Research shared its Turkey Political Agenda Research for May 2025 with the public.
In the poll conducted in 26 provinces between May 20-24, participants were asked, "Which party would you vote for if a parliamentary election were held today?"
Undecided voters left their mark on the poll, which included 2,000 participants.
CHP FIRST, UNDECIDED VOTERS IN 3RD PLACE
Before the distribution of undecided voters, the percentage of those saying CHP was measured at 27 percent.
The percentage of those saying AKP was 23.7 percent.
The percentage of undecided voters was 21 percent. The vote shares of other parties are as follows:
DEM: 6.4 percent
MHP: 5.8 percent
İYİ Party: 5.7 percent
Zafer Party: 3.4 percent
A Party: 2.2 percent
YRP: 2.1 percent
Other: 2.7 percent
4-POINT GAP, MHP AND İYİ PARTY CLOSE TO THE THRESHOLD
When undecided voters were distributed, the results were as follows:
CHP: 34.1 percent
AKP: 30.1 percent
DEM: 8.1 percent
MHP: 7.3 percent
İYİ Party: 7.2 percent
Zafer Party: 4.3 percent
A Party: 2.8 percent
YRP: 2.6 percent
Other: 3.4 percent
In the poll, it was observed that the CHP increased the gap to 4 points, and the MHP and İYİ Party are close to the electoral threshold.
Within the scope of the research, opinions were also asked regarding the Presidential Government System, the PKK terrorist organization's dissolution statement, the counter-terrorism policies of the DEM Party and MHP, and the diploma and ongoing investigations concerning Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently detained in Silivri Prison.
