Warning from the person who served as Erdoğan's advisor for 7 years: He gave a date for an early election

Journalist İlnur Çevik, who served as chief advisor to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for 7 years, made striking statements regarding Turkey's political future in an interview with T24.

Stating that the country's current political and administrative structure is unsustainable, Çevik made an open call to President Erdoğan, saying, "He must take Turkey to elections. This must be done within two years at the latest. Otherwise, woe betide!"

"THE KURDISH ISSUE CANNOT BE SOLVED WITH THIS METHOD"

In his interview, Çevik also evaluated the Kurdish issue, stating that he has worked in this field for years and that current policies are far from a solution. "The Kurdish people must feel that they are first-class citizens in this country. If they do not feel that way, this issue will never be solved," said Çevik, arguing that a more inclusive approach is needed for social peace.

HE REMINDED OF THE 2007 CRISIS PERIOD

Touching upon the political turbulence the AKP experienced in 2007, İlnur Çevik described that period with the following words:

"The party was under serious pressure from inside and outside. Abdüllatif Şener resigned, Erkan Mumcu and his friends left. Debates took place over 'a president cannot have a wife who wears a headscarf.' The 367 crisis erupted. The AK Party was nearing collapse. The secular segment and the military were in the mood to finish this off. But Erdoğan was a brave leader; he did not resign. With the support he received from Anatolia, he increased his vote share from 36 percent to 50 percent. The party closure case was also part of this process. However, all of these were major mistakes by the secular segment and the military."

"IF THERE IS NO SYSTEM, THERE IS NO FUTURE"

Criticizing the Presidential Government System, Çevik said, "Is a country managed like this? If the system collapses when one person is removed, it means there is no real system in place. This structure is unsustainable." Stating that a permanent and institutional system must be built for Turkey's future, Çevik expressed that everyone who thinks about their grandchildren should contribute to this.

"ERDOĞAN HAS A VISION, BUT..."

Although Çevik stated that Erdoğan is still a leader with a vision, he implied that his ability to make decisive and strategic moves as he did in the past could be questioned. "The President is not a trivial man. I think he sees the reality, but he is debating in his mind how to implement it. He actually knows himself that Turkey needs to go to early elections. There is serious trouble in the country, but let us not forget that Erdoğan is a patriot," he said.
