Following the press conference, the terrorist organization's so-called spokesperson, Zagros Hiwa, spoke on behalf of the organization and referred to "Öcalan's peace project" in a statement to foreign news agencies. Hiwa stated, "We are on the path to implementing this project. For this, Turkey needs to make political changes and create a suitable environment for the project to be realized."

THREE NEW CONDITIONS PUT FORWARD

PKK spokesperson Hiwa made three fundamental demands regarding the political structure in Turkey. Using the phrase, "Democratic integration laws should be discussed so that people who have been subjected to the government's oppression and persecution can be integrated into Turkish politics," Hiwa listed the following proposals:

The Constitution of Turkey should not deprive Kurds of their rights or marginalize them.

Kurds should not feel excluded from the constitution.

The constitution should be rewritten in a way that Kurds will not feel alienated.

Stating that the current constitution must be changed, Hiwa said, "The constitution must be rewritten in a way that does not exclude Kurds."

"TURKISH ARMY MUST WITHDRAW FROM IRAQ AND SYRIA"

Another part of the statement was directed at Turkey's cross-border operations. Terrorist Hiwa claimed that the Turkish Armed Forces were "occupying vast lands" in Iraq and Syria and used the following expressions:

"If there is sincerity for peace, the Turkish army must withdraw from these regions. It is not possible to talk about peace while expanding the occupation. Strengthening military bases and spreading into wider areas in Bashur and Rojava is incompatible with the peace process."
