In the process, during which 185 companies threatening public health have been exposed so far, a total of 1,094 fraudulent products have been identified.

Among these products, 455 consist of vegetable oils, 247 of meat and meat products, 185 of non-alcoholic beverages, 146 of milk and dairy products, and 90 of spices and sauces.

However, concerns regarding food safety have not been limited to the publication of these lists. Sencer Solakoğlu, President of the Association of All Milk, Meat and Breeding Cattle Breeders (TÜSEDAD), announced that complaint files for 70 more companies have been submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

Solakoğlu stated that it was determined in these files that water or oil ratios were below the declared levels and that this was not a technical error, but a deliberate malpractice.

SERIOUS STEPS MUST BE TAKEN

Solakoğlu emphasized that the sector needs to take serious steps regarding food safety, saying, "The examples announced are just the tip of the iceberg. It is critically important for public health that the Ministry increases its inspections. The reasons why companies resort to such malpractice should also be examined in detail."
