What have we been eating instead of minced meat pastry! The Ministry has published the new list
The lists of imitation and adulterated products published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry have drawn the attention of consumers, as surprising findings are being encountered in some food products. Recent tests have detected pork and food coloring in sucuk (Turkish sausage), and the use of gizzards in the minced meat and pide (flatbread) produced by some pastry shops.
The disclosure lists that the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry continues to publish have certainly killed our appetite.
Looking at the long lists and the ingredients and products used, we are not entirely unjustified in feeling this way.
In the latest tests, the use of food coloring in the production of sucuk, and pork in beef rib and sucuk, was detected.
It was observed that a pastry shop included in the list used gizzards in the preparation of minced meat and pide.
WHAT IS A GIZZARD?
In birds, the gizzard is a part of the stomach, located after the glandular stomach called the proventriculus and before the small intestines. It is located exactly in the bird's body, below the esophagus and the crop (the area where food is temporarily stored).
Here are the new products added to the list of imitation and adulteration:
