Architect Ece Gürel, who was found unconscious 4 days after going missing in Istanbul's Belgrade Forest, lost her battle for life at the hospital where she was taken. While Gürel's death brought many questions with it, various allegations have been made in the public eye regarding the details of the incident.

Following the increase in allegations regarding Ece Gürel's death, her family and her husband Sezer Gürel participated in a live television program to make statements. While the family expressed their suspicions about how their daughter went missing, they also responded to some allegations that had surfaced on social media.

Ece Gürel's husband, Sezer Gürel, stated in his explanation regarding the events that they had been together for over 10 years, saying:

They ask, 'Why did you leave her alone, why didn't you go?' When my wife wanted to take a course, I supported her. Just as I could do whatever I wanted, so could she."

Expressing his suspicions regarding his wife's disappearance, Gürel said, "When we went to the forest together, she wouldn't let us go to the pond. When we wanted to climb to high places, she would say, 'What are you doing there?' She would never leave the walking path."

She would definitely have let me know that day too."

Reminded of his previous statement where he said, "They sacrificed her," father Koçoğlu stated that his words were misunderstood, saying that he did not think his daughter had participated in a ritual and that she was only in the forest to clear her head. However, the family believes that Ece did not go to the forest alone and that she was taken by someone and then left alone.

Addressing the allegations that Ece Gürel was "receiving witchcraft training," her family stated that they were disturbed by such news. The family demanded a clear explanation regarding their daughter's death and requested that the points they find suspicious be investigated in detail.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

Gürel, who left her home in Kağıthane's Gültepe neighborhood on Sunday, March 2, saying she was going to the Belgrade Forest for a walk, went missing, and a large-scale search operation was launched in the forest with the participation of numerous search and rescue teams upon the notification of her relatives.

Gürel, who was found at night as a result of the teams' 4-day work, had lost her life due to hypothermia and the complications that developed as a result.
