What will the weather be like during Eid al-Adha? Expert explains

With only a few days left until Eid al-Adha, one of the topics citizens are most curious about is the weather forecast. In his assessment, meteorology expert Prof. Dr. Orhan Şen announced that no precipitation is expected across Turkey throughout the holiday and that temperatures will rise above seasonal norms.

TEMPERATURES WILL EXCEED 30 DEGREES

Prof. Dr. Şen issued a warning, saying, "We are forecasting 23-24 degrees for Istanbul today, but starting Monday, it will be 26-27, and towards the weekend, temperatures will exceed 30 degrees." With the arrival of Eid al-Adha on June 6, summer weather will also take effect in Istanbul.

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE IN IZMIR AND ANTALYA?

Providing important information for those making holiday plans, Şen stated, "In coastal cities like Izmir and Antalya, temperatures will rise above 35 degrees. This poses a risk to human health. One should not stay under the sun during midday hours."

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE DURING THE HOLIDAY?

Having previously indicated a possibility of precipitation in inland areas on the 3rd and 4th days of the holiday, Prof. Dr. Şen said that in light of the latest data, this scenario has been ruled out:

"There is no precipitation across Turkey during the holiday. The weather will be clear, and temperatures will be high. There are extreme temperatures in the south and the Aegean."

Prof. Dr. Şen warned those heading to holiday destinations with the following words:

"Choose light-colored, loose clothing. Do not go to the beach without sunglasses and a hat. Especially do not stay under the sun for long periods during midday hours."

Şen also touched upon short-term precipitation expectations for Istanbul and Central Anatolia:

"There is rain in Istanbul and many parts of Anatolia over the weekend. It will last for 2 days. This precipitation is very important, especially for Central Anatolia from an agricultural perspective. Following that, we expect summer weather for 10 days."
