The "dismissal" controversy that began after newly graduated lieutenants performed a sword oath following the Military Academy graduation ceremony and chanted the slogan "We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal" continues.

New statements regarding the lieutenants' sword oath ceremony came today from sources within the Ministry of National Defense.

Sources from the Ministry of National Defense (MSB) announced that the lieutenants who took the oath with swords following the graduation ceremony at the National Defense University Military Academy (MSÜ KHO) have been referred to the High Disciplinary Board for damaging the reputation of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK).

Sources close to the ministry stated, "The issue is not the text that was read, but the failure to follow orders. They opened the TSK to debate and damaged its reputation."

NOTIFICATION SENT TO LIEUTENANTS

CHP Deputy Chairman Yankı Bağcıoğlu reported that in the investigation launched after the sword oath ceremony, notifications were served to Lieutenant Ebru Eroğlu and Lieutenant İzzet Talip Akarsu, as well as Lieutenant Serhat Gündar and Lieutenant Deniz Demirtaş, regarding their referral to the High Disciplinary Board "with the intent of imposing a dismissal penalty from the TSK." Following these developments, in addition to the question of who Ebru Eroğlu is, there is also curiosity about whether she will be dismissed from the TSK.

JUDICIAL DECISION REGARDING EBRU EROĞLU

Cumhuriyet columnist Barış Terkoğlu covered the judicial decision regarding Ebru Eroğlu in his column.

According to Terkoğlu, an individual on social media directed insults at Eroğlu, stating, "One wouldn't even f*** her, she is such an ugly Kemalist slut, but because she is a Kemalist, I could rape her." Eroğlu filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office regarding the abusive post. The prosecutor's office did not see a crime in the post and issued a "no grounds for prosecution" decision on October 21.

The prosecutor's office deemed this insult written under Eroğlu's photo as freedom of expression, stating, "After all, he didn't write Ebru's name."
