Will the Eid al-Adha holiday be 9 days? The long-awaited statement has come from Minister Ersoy
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy has responded to the much-anticipated question regarding whether the Eid al-Adha holiday will be extended to 9 days.
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy attended the opening ceremony of the Manisa Museum, which has completed its restoration in Manisa.
In his speech at the ceremony, he made statements regarding both tourism targets and the Eid al-Adha holiday.
Ersoy stated that the tourism sector, in particular, expects the holiday to be 9 days long, saying, "We, of course, want it to be a 9-day holiday, and the sector's expectation is in this direction as well."
Speaking on the possibility of extending the Eid al-Adha holiday, which will be celebrated between June 6-9, to 9 days by combining it with the weekend, Ersoy said, "Our desire is important in this regard, but it is not sufficient on its own. The final decision will be made by the authorized bodies. We will all wait and see together."
The decision to extend the holiday to 9 days will be officially announced by the Presidency.
If the days in between are counted as administrative leave for public employees, as in previous years, the holiday will run from Saturday, June 1, to Sunday, June 9.
