Will tradespeople who share their location have to pay tax? Statement from Vice President Yılmaz

Claims regarding a regulation on location sharing by businesses in Turkey have been brought to the agenda.

It was alleged that the Law on Amendments to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Certain Laws has been rearranged.

It was suggested that a location tax would be imposed on tradespeople.

It was claimed that businesses wishing to share their location would have to pay permit fees ranging from 1,750 TL to 1,750,000 TL annually.

It was also brought to the agenda that businesses sharing their location without authorization in violation of the law would be fined double the determined permit fee.

It was stated that with the new practice, the state is expected to generate over 30 billion TL in annual revenue from geographic data sharing.

"Is a fee coming for tradespeople who share their location?" While this question is on the agenda, a last-minute statement came from both Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz responded to the location tax claim during a live broadcast on NTV, saying, "It is completely untrue, it has nothing to do with tradespeople. No such situation exists."

In a statement regarding the claims that a location tax would be collected from tradespeople, the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization used the expressions, "It is not true that taxes will be collected from tradespeople."
