Withdrawal limit increased, but... ATM crisis!

Recently, a shortage of small banknotes in ATMs has been complicating transactions for citizens.

The scarcity of 5, 10, 20, and 50 TL banknotes in particular has become a serious issue for users who want to withdraw small amounts of money.

Although ATMs have capacities ranging from 800,000 TL to 1 million TL, they are generally loaded with between 500,000 TL and 700,000 TL in cash.

This situation leads to an insufficient supply of small banknotes in ATMs.

Users who want to withdraw small amounts, in particular, are encountering the message, "I cannot provide the amount you wish to withdraw at this time."

For example, a customer wanting to withdraw 290 TL may be forced to withdraw only 200 TL. Citizens interpret this situation as "ATMs steering users toward transactions with larger amounts."

WITHDRAWAL LIMIT INCREASED BUT...

As of 2024, daily withdrawal limits have been increased to up to 20,000 TL. However, this has further increased the demand for small denominations.

Withdrawing large amounts of money causes the cash in ATMs to run out quickly. This forces citizens to search for different ATMs to withdraw the amount they need.

Experts state that the cash management in ATMs is insufficient to meet daily needs.
