It has been alleged that Yemeksepeti, one of Turkey's leading food ordering platforms, had the information of millions of citizens stolen. Furthermore, it was stated that the company sent 200,000 Euros in virtual currency to the individuals who hacked them.

According to a report by Sabah, the Yemeksepeti company filed a criminal complaint with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, claiming that there were data breach and blackmail attempts directed at them.

According to the allegations, the citizens' information at Yemeksepeti was not stolen, but an attempt was made by unidentified person or persons to make it appear as if there were a data leak.

THEY CLAIMED THE ALLEGATIONS WERE BASELESS BUT THE TRUTH CAME OUT

In the petition submitted to the prosecutor's office, the company stated that they had performed detailed checks on their systems and had not encountered any data leaks or breaches.

The company argued that they found the suspects' claims to be baseless and that these attempts were intended to damage their reputation.

THEY PAID 200 THOUSAND EUROS FOR THEM TO STAY SILENT

On the other hand, it was stated in the petition that an individual named Turgut U. had previously made misleading posts regarding customer information and credit card details.

The company claimed that there were no security vulnerabilities in their systems. The criminal complaint requested that the identities of the suspects be determined and that lawsuits be filed against them for the crimes of "Slander" and "Blackmail."

In the petition submitted to the prosecutor's office, the famous company also stated that the hackers who obtained the data demanded money from them, and in this context, the company gave 200,000 Euros worth of virtual currency to the people who threatened to release the data.

Yemeksepeti founder Nevzat Aydın had appeared and made a statement 17 days after the data scandal.
