Yeni Şafak targets those supporting the boycott: 'Boycott to support corruption'
Following the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launching an investigation into the consumer boycott call, the pro-AKP newspaper Yeni Şafak published the photos and names of the celebrities who made the call, targeting them one by one.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had announced that an investigation had been launched into individuals who called for and spread the consumption boycott.
The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office stated that an ex officio investigation was being conducted into those participating in the boycott call on charges of 'Hate and Discrimination' and 'Inciting the Public to Hatred and Hostility'.
Following this development, the newspaper Yeni Şafak, affiliated with the pro-AKP Albayrak Media group, took a notable step.
The newspaper openly targeted the celebrities who supported the April 2 Consumption Boycott on its social media accounts.
While the posts included the phrase, "Which celebrities supported the CHP's 'stop consumption' call?", a series of posts were made that distorted the situation with the headline 'Boycott to support corruption'.
These posts included the photos and names of many actors, comedians, and social media influencers.
