Zehra Kınık says 'money' again: She has applied to the court

A notable development has occurred in the case against Fatma Zehra Kınık Demir, the daughter of former Turkish Red Crescent President Kerem Kınık.

Kınık, who was sentenced to 4 years and 2 months in prison for the accident that led to the death of one person and the injury of three others, submitted a petition to the Istanbul Anatolian 8th High Criminal Court requesting that her sentence be converted into a judicial fine.

According to a report by İsmail Arı from BirGün, the petition recalled that two people had withdrawn their complaints and emphasized that, in accordance with Article 50 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK), long-term prison sentences for negligent crimes can be converted into fines, taking into account the defendant's personality, social status, economic situation, remorse, and the manner in which the crime was committed.

The following statements were included in the petition submitted to the court by the lawyers:

“Our client's personality, social and economic status, and the deep sorrow she has experienced should be taken into consideration. We request that the sentence be converted into a judicial fine, taking into account her remorse during the trial process, the withdrawal of some of the complaints, and the payments made.”

MOTHER DOES NOT GIVE UP THE LEGAL STRUGGLE

In addition to Serdal Barlasçeki, the father of 17-year-old Batın Barlasçeki who lost his life in the accident, the motorcycle rider Yavuz Selim Öztürk, who was injured in the accident, also withdrew his complaint. However, Batın's mother, Hasret Doğan, has not taken a step back.
