Gambling operation in Kocaeli: 18 people fined 115 thousand 650 liras
In gambling operations conducted in Kocaeli, 18 people were issued administrative fines totaling 115 thousand 650 liras, and judicial proceedings were initiated against 4 people identified as facilitating gambling at their workplaces.
According to a statement from the Kocaeli Provincial Police Department, inspections were carried out at public entertainment and recreation venues as part of efforts to prevent the crime of "providing a place and opportunity for gambling."
Teams identified that gambling was taking place at certain businesses in the Kartepe, Gölcük, and İzmit districts.
GAMBLING OPERATION IN 3 DISTRICTS
Teams determined that bingo was being played at a coffeehouse in the Kartepe district, seized 3 thousand liras used for gambling, and imposed administrative fines totaling 44 thousand 975 liras on 7 people.
In the Gölcük district, administrative action was taken against 3 people caught gambling at a business, with a total of 19 thousand 275 liras in fines issued, and 8 thousand 400 liras were taken into custody.
In the İzmit district, teams imposed administrative fines totaling 51 thousand 400 liras on 8 people caught gambling at two different businesses and seized 4 thousand 300 liras and 100 euros used in the gambling.
Meanwhile, judicial proceedings were initiated against K.K., T.A., S.P., and T.K., who were identified as facilitating gambling at their workplaces.
