Gaziosmanpaşa had passed to the AKP: Acting mayors for Avcılar and Büyükçekmece have been determined!

Due to the suspension of Avcılar Mayor Utku Caner Çaykara, Büyükçekmece Mayor Hasan Akgün, and Gaziosmanpaşa Mayor Hakan Bahçetepe, who were arrested in the 5th wave of operations regarding corruption investigations targeting the IMM, acting mayoral elections were held in these municipalities.

CHP's Yüksel Can won the acting mayoral election held at the Avcılar Municipality. The People's Alliance nominated Mahmut Löpbaş in Avcılar.

In the first round of the election, 37 votes were cast, with CHP candidate Can receiving 24 votes and AKP candidate Lökbaş receiving 13 votes.

The candidates received the same number of votes in the second round of the election as well.

Since neither candidate could secure two-thirds of the council members' votes, an acting mayor could not be elected.

Following this, the election moved to the third round, where a simple majority is required.

In the third round, CHP candidate Can received 24 votes, and AK Party candidate Lökbaş received 13 votes.

AHMET ŞAHİN ELECTED IN BÜYÜKÇEKMECE

The winner of the election at the Büyükçekmece Municipality was also CHP's Ahmet Şahin. Şahin was elected acting mayor by receiving 22 votes.

People's Alliance candidate Mustafa Yazıcı received 12 votes.

In the elections, 1 vote was blank and 1 vote was considered invalid.

ERAY KARADENİZ ELECTED IN GAZİOSMANPAŞA

AKP's Eray Karadeniz was elected to replace the suspended Hakan Bahçetepe at the Gaziosmanpaşa Municipality.
