In Kyrenia, K.Ç., a general manager at a tourism agency, has been arrested on allegations of embezzling one million 600 thousand TL.
K.Ç., who was arrested for fraud in accounts in Kyrenia, was brought back to court for a bail hearing.
The suspect, who worked as a general manager at Cyprus Royal Tourism Agency, where M.Y. serves as director, was initially arrested on the grounds that he stole 76 thousand 935 TL in cash, which was the accommodation fee he received from A.E., who had come for a vacation, instead of delivering it to the company.
As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the suspect had transferred one million 650 thousand TL, which was money from many reservations, into his own accounts between 2023 and 2024. The court decided that the suspect, who is being tried while in custody, should remain detained.
