German Chancellor Scholz evaluates his meeting with Erdoğan
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced on his social media account that he and Erdoğan have different views on the Middle East.
The repercussions of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's contacts in Germany continue. Following the remarks made by Erdoğan regarding the Palestinian issue and Eurofighter fighter jets during the joint press conference held by Erdoğan and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the German Chancellor shared a statement via his social media account.
In his post on his X account, Olaf Scholz stated, "We have very different views on the Middle East issue with President Erdoğan. That is precisely why speaking directly is so important. I say it clearly: For Germany, Israel's right to exist is non-negotiable. There is no place for antisemitism in our country, and at the same time, we say: Every life is equal, and the suffering of the Palestinian civilian population in Gaza also saddens us. Germany is one of the largest donors of humanitarian aid, and we have now increased our aid once again."
