'Gezi Park' investigation into the media! RTÜK issues statement on archives
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has requested records of media content broadcast during the Gezi Park protests from RTÜK. RTÜK sources stated that all records are in their archives and will be shared with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office sent a letter to RTÜK requesting the broadcast records of media organizations that aired content "in the nature of propaganda" during the Gezi Park protests, which took place 12 years ago.

RTÜK member İlhan Taşçı, in a statement regarding this decision, had said, "Although the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has requested television footage records within the scope of the Gezi investigation, the RTÜK archive does not go back that many years. Only records of files that have been reported on or are the subject of judicial proceedings are kept in storage."
"ALL RECORDS ARE AVAILABLE TO US"
RTÜK sources reached by Mynet responded to Taşçı's remarks. The statement included the following:
"We have all the records. RTÜK takes control of and records all broadcasts, especially in extraordinary situations, natural disasters, and incidents such as these terrorist events, and keeps them in its archive! Our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has requested both TV and digital documents regarding the media from us, and we will conduct a detailed archive search and forward the necessary archives to our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. All records from the Gezi Park period are available to us!"
