Giant champion Kocaelispor flag hung on Osmangazi Bridge
Continuing to celebrate their promotion to the Süper Lig after 16 years, Kocaelispor fans requested that Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın hang a giant flag on the Osmangazi Bridge. Granting the fans' wish, Mayor Büyükakın said, "You asked, we did it," as the giant flag was unfurled over the Gulf of İzmit.
Having declared themselves champions with 3 weeks left in the Trendyol 1st League season, Kocaelispor has been promoted to the Süper Lig after a 16-year hiatus.
In Kocaeli, where thousands of fans celebrated for two days, supporters requested via social media that the Gulf flag be hung on the Osmangazi Bridge over the Gulf of İzmit.
Granting the fans' request, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tahir Büyükakın had the giant Kocaelispor flag hung on the bridge following permits obtained from the Ministry of Transport.
Sharing the footage on his social media account, Mayor Büyükakın said, "You asked, we did it! The Osmangazi Bridge is now Green-Black."
