As discussions continue regarding the fund investigation and share transactions in capital markets, a new statement has come from CHP Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın concerning former Minister of Family and Social Policies Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya.
Günaydın stated that Kaya, who came to the agenda with transactions in Özata Denizcilik shares, made a payment to the accounts of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, but argued that the amount deposited was not sufficient under the regulations.
In his statement, Günaydın used the expression, “Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya paid 2.1 billion liras to the Treasury, but the money she needs to pay is 4.4 billion liras.” According to Günaydın, the payment made corresponds to approximately half of the amount stipulated in the Capital Markets Board (SPK) regulations.
According to the information provided, it was stated that Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya and her husband İlyas Kaya sent the aforementioned 2.1 billion lira amount to the bank account of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.
In the relevant regulation of the Capital Markets Board, certain conditions are required for individuals who have been subject to a criminal complaint decision within the scope of Article 107/1 of the Capital Markets Law No. 6362 to benefit from effective remorse.
Accordingly, within 15 days from the Board's decision, a payment must be made in the amount of twice the benefit obtained or caused to be obtained, provided it is not less than 500 thousand liras, and the payment documents must be submitted to the SPK within the same period.
