Gold at his wedding had become a hot topic: Social media influencer 'Vanlı Kara Haydar' detained

Mehmet Fatih Tançalan, known by the nickname "Vanlı Kara Haydar," was detained at his home in the Muradiye district of Van, citing his social media posts as the reason.

The Van Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into Tançalan for "insulting the Turkish nation, the Republic of Turkey, and the state's institutions and bodies" due to his posts on social media platforms. As part of the investigation, teams from the Provincial Police Department's Public Security Branch detained Tançalan at his home and took him to the police station.

Tançalan had also recently made headlines with his wedding to social media influencer Çağla Öz in Van over the weekend. The large amount of gold reportedly gifted to the bride at the wedding had sparked widespread reaction on social media.

Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a financial inquiry has also been initiated regarding the images reflected on social media and the gold reportedly gifted at the wedding. In this context, an investigation has been requested from the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK).

It was reported that it was determined during the investigation that Tançalan has a criminal record of 25 offenses. The processing of Mehmet Fatih Tançalan at the police station is ongoing.
