Aftershocks continue in the Sea of Marmara. Most recently, another earthquake was felt in Istanbul.

AFAD announced that a 4.3-magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Büyükçekmece, Istanbul. The depth of the earthquake was recorded at 7.01 km.

According to the statement made by the Kandilli Observatory, the magnitude of the earthquake was announced as 4.6, with a depth recorded at 7.4 km.

CITIZENS TOOK TO THE STREETS

Citizens who felt the tremor in Esenyurt, Büyükçekmece, and Arnavutköy took to the streets.

STATEMENT FROM ISTANBUL GOVERNOR GÜL

In a statement shared on his social media account, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül said the following:

"The aftershocks occurring in our province, which are felt from time to time, are part of the normal processes experienced after a main earthquake, as our experts have also stated. There are no negative reports reaching our Governor's Office.

Our provincial and district disaster management centers are on duty 24/7.

Let us not forget; being cautious is important, while panicking increases the risk.

May the Almighty protect our city and our country from all kinds of disasters."
