Governor Mustafa Masatlı: We hope to complete our rural housing projects as soon as possible
In Hatay, where earthquakes caused widespread destruction, construction is underway for 2,355 out of 5,584 village-type disaster houses that have been tendered across 13 districts.
Efforts are being carried out by the General Directorate of Construction Affairs of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change to meet the housing needs of citizens whose homes were destroyed or heavily damaged in the February 6 earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş.
Hatay Governor Mustafa Masatlı, who inspected the housing projects in Arsuz district, told an AA reporter that a large number of structures in Hatay were destroyed or severely damaged in the earthquakes.
Stating that the number of village-type disaster houses tendered in 13 districts of Hatay is 5,584, and that construction has begun on 2,355 of them following site delivery, Masatlı said, "We have delivered 56 of our houses so far. Hopefully, we will also make 144 of our houses available for our citizens to move into within this month."
CONSTRUCTION OF HOUSES CONTINUES IN 4 RURAL NEIGHBORHOODS IN ARSUZ
Governor Masatlı stated that the construction of village-type disaster houses is also proceeding rapidly in Arsuz district, which was affected by the earthquakes.
Expressing that 494 village-type disaster houses are being built in 4 rural neighborhoods in the district, Masatlı noted the following:
"Arsuz is a beautiful district of our Mediterranean region and our Hatay. We are seeing our rural houses in our Haymaseki village, in an area with a sea view and nestled within forests. As of now, our rural housing projects are continuing in our 13 districts. 494 of these are in the Arpaderesi, Tatarlı, Haymaseki, and Hüyük neighborhoods of our Arsuz district. Our housing construction in our Haymaseki neighborhood is continuing in 2 phases. While planning these, our state has also considered all kinds of amenities. In places where we have 100 or more village houses, many activities are being carried out, primarily village community centers, related to the socialization of our citizens there. On the other hand, we are also creating places of worship and park areas where our children can spend their free time. Hopefully, we will complete all these tendered rural houses as soon as possible and make them available for our citizens to move into."
