Governor's Office announces! 15-day ban in effect

The Şırnak Governor's Office has announced that demonstrations, marches, and outdoor meetings are prohibited across the province from December 28, 2024, to January 11, 2025. The Governor's Office cited the protection of public order, security, and public safety as the reason for the ban. Additionally, it was announced that 15 areas have been declared temporary special security zones, and unauthorized entry into these areas is prohibited.

Governor's Office announces! 15-day ban in effect

In a statement issued by the Şırnak Governor's Office, it was reported that, with the exception of events deemed appropriate by the Governor's Office and district governorships, as well as programs organized by public institutions and organizations, official holidays, and sports competitions, all other programs are prohibited between December 28 and January 11.


The statement included the following remarks:


"Within the provincial borders of Şırnak; in order to ensure national security, protect public order and security, prevent the commission of crimes, protect fundamental rights and freedoms as well as the rights and freedoms of others and general public safety, prevent the occurrence of violent incidents, and forestall any potential negative situations, pursuant to Article 11/c of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442 and Article 32/A of the Military Forbidden Zones and Security Zones Law No. 2565, the Şırnak Governor's Office has declared 15 temporary special security zones between December 28, 2024, and January 11, 2025, including the Bestler Dereler region within the borders of the central district of Şırnak; the Gabar Mountain region within the borders of the central district of Şırnak and Güçlükonak district; the Cudi Mountain region within the borders of the central district of Şırnak, Silopi, and Cizre districts; the Kurt Mountain region within the borders of the central district of Şırnak, Silopi, and Uludere districts; the Kelmehmetler-Dönmezler-Kovankaya, Tahtareş, Hüsrevpaşa-Suhurpaşayayla, İncebeldağları, and Faraşin regions within the borders of the Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak; the Altındağları region within the borders of the Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak; and the Oymakaya region within the borders of the Beytüşşebap and Uludere districts of Şırnak, to ensure that citizens who might travel to these areas are not harmed by illegal elements in the aforementioned regions or by the measures to be taken against them. It is prohibited for our citizens to enter these regions without permission between these dates for the sake of their life and property safety. Criminal proceedings will be initiated against those who do not comply with the ban in accordance with Article 66 of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442."
