Governor's Office announces: Metro stations in Taksim to be temporarily closed
By decision of the Istanbul Governor's Office, the Taksim and Şişhane stations of the Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro Line and the Taksim-Kabataş Funicular Line will be closed to service until further notice.
The Istanbul Governor's Office has decided that the Taksim station of the M2 Yenikapı - Hacıosman Metro Line and the F1 Taksim - Kabataş Funicular Line will be closed to service starting from 15:00 on November 25 until further notice. The decision was announced via a post on Metro Istanbul's official social media account.
The post on Metro Istanbul's social media account stated, "In accordance with the decision taken by the Istanbul Governor's Office, as of 15:00 on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, until further notice; the Taksim station of our M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro Line and our F1 Taksim-Kabataş Funicular Line will be closed to service.
The İstiklal Street exit of our Şişhane station will be closed to passenger use. Our passengers may use the other entrances and exits of the station. Our vehicles will continue their journey without stopping at the Taksim station," the statement read.
