Governor's office blocks Özgür Özel's İzmir rally: 'Gündoğdu' rejected
The İzmir Governor's Office did not grant permission for CHP Chairman Özel to address the public at Cumhuriyet Square, instead directing them to Gündoğdu Square. The party opposed this decision. It was learned that Özel stated, "I will lay a wreath at our Ancestor's monument. No one can interfere with this."
CHP İzmir Provincial Chairman Çağatay Güç announced that he would welcome Özel at the airport on Tuesday.
However, the Governor's Office did not grant permission for this, citing congestion at the airport due to the holiday break.
Provincial Chairman Güç announced that Özel would address party members and the people of İzmir at Cumhuriyet Square at 12:00 PM.
But this time, a crisis emerged regarding the rally venue.
The Governor's Office requested that the rally be held at Gündoğdu Square instead of Cumhuriyet Square.
When the party opposed this, the matter reached a stalemate.
ÖZEL: NO ONE CAN STOP IT
The issue was relayed to Özel. According to information obtained by GÜNDEME BAKIŞ, Özel stated, "I will lay a wreath at the Atatürk Monument in Cumhuriyet Square. No one can stop this."
Özel will also address party members at 1:00 PM.
