Governor's Office pursues those carrying 'End Trade with Israel' banners

Following the publication of documents alleging that Eti Maden, which is under the Turkey Wealth Fund, was making shipments to an Israeli company, demonstrations protesting the AKP's trade with Israel were held in many cities across Turkey.

While police intervened in banners opened during the demonstrations in Konya that featured slogans such as "AKP, End Trade with Israel," the Konya Governor's Office used the term "provocateurs" for those carrying such banners in a statement it released.

Sharing on its social media account, the Governor's Office stated the following:

"LEGAL ACTION HAS BEEN INITIATED REGARDING PROVOCATIVE ACTS

It has been determined that during the event held in Konya on Thursday, April 4, at 20:15 to support Palestine, some individuals who infiltrated the participants carried banners containing provocations and chanted slogans containing insults.

The banners, which were contrary to the purpose of the event, were removed from the area, and an investigation has been initiated by the Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the individuals who chanted slogans and carried the banners.

Additionally, legal action has been initiated against an individual determined to have flown a drone without permission in the event area.

Individuals who attempt to divert activities that express the rightful reaction of our noble nation to end the attacks in Palestine and to support the Palestinian people from their purpose will absolutely not be tolerated."
